Owing to the tremendous thrust given in National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) of Govt. of India as to provide reliable and quality power supply to all households of rural areas in five years through implementation of Rural Electrification / APDRP/RGGVY programmes, a huge volume of Rural Electrification Works are on active state of implementation as well as in potential stage of proposals. In order to take the opportunity of new business and to serve the nation in such critical phase, Sterling and Wilson has started its T & D Division from June, 2006.
The scope of the services that the company will provide in Power Distribution Work includes:
- 33/11 KV HT Lines,
- LT Lines with Cables & Conductors,
- Installation of Distribution Transformers (DT) and
- 11/33 KV substations.
The New T & D Division and its experienced manpower has also got the strength in catering services in construction, maintenance, design, engineering of EHV Overhead Lines and EHV Substations up to 220 KV at this stage is planning to go up to 400 KV thereafter.
The T & D Division of Sterling and Wilson is fully equipped with its own groups of Engineers, Technicians, highly skilled manpower right from Surveyors, Field Engineers, Construction Manager and Project Manager as well as efficient team in Design & Engineering to undertake all kinds of Transmission and Distribution work in Power Sector.
The T & D Division is organized with all kinds of tools, equipments, tensioning & stringing devices, cranes etc to undertake any small or big jobs of Distribution & Transmission.
In such small period of time of 4 months, the T & D division has already secured good volume of jobs for Rs.150 Cr. in Rural Electrification and expecting more volume of work to achieve a Target of Rs.300 Cr. in 2006-07 and Rs.500 Cr. in 2007-08.
