Project Brief:

M/s. Emami Power Ltd. has set up a 10 MW solar power generation plant at Venkatapura village, Pavagada Takul., which is 17 Kms from Pavagada. Sterling and Wilson was awarded the EPC contract for this project. The DC Capacity of the plant is 11 MW and the AC capacity is of 10 MW, which is feeding the Venkatapura Sub-station by 66 KV line situated 3.8 Kms from the plant. Work started on 22nd December 2015 and plant was commissioned on 17th March 2016.

Our Scope:

Design, supply, execution, liasoning and civil works involved in construction of main control room, two inverter rooms, RO plant, security room, road work and construction of 2 culverts. The right of way for 17 towers of 66 KV, 3.8 Kms of 66 KV line with 17 numbers of 66 KV towers, execution of 66 Kv substations (2 numbers) one at plant side and one at Electricity Board station side.

Major challenges of this project were to receive 9-10 farmer’s agreement for ROW work of 17 Towers, strict time bound commissioning and liasoning work required to co-ordinate between CEIG, BESCOM, Metering Division, BESCOM and KPTCL. Our team was able to overcome all hurdles to complete project on time.
