Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) cleared 6.6 acres of land near the National Highway – 21 for the 20 storey Inter-State Bus Terminal-cum-commercial complex in Sector 57, Mohali, in northern region of India. Its constructed C & C Construction. One of the most unique feature of this terminal is a helipad on its rooftop. The building is divided into 3 parts – a fully air-conditioned bus terminus, a hotel and an office-cum-commercial tower. The walls of the enclosed passenger concourse at the bus terminus has safety glass glazing to provide a view of the movement of buses.
The concourse also has remote-sensor glass doors in front of each bus bay, which will be connected to the passenger area by means of escalators and elevators. Several facilities such as a computerised bus-schedule monitoring system, a high-tech security system, information display, smart card-operated tolling system, baggage trolleys, cloak rooms, food courts, restrooms, restaurants, ATMs, phone booths, location maps and an information desk on tourist destinations in the city are part of this modern bus terminal.
Sterling and Wilson was engaged for complete plumbing and Fire Fighting facility at the terminal.
