Rourkela Steel Plant is implementing a massive modernization and expansion programme under which the plant is all set to double its capacity and augment it to the level of 4.5Million ton per year of Hot Metal. The crude Steel making capacity will simultaneously increase from the level of 1.9MTPA to 4.2 MTPA and production of saleable steel will zoom from the level of 1.671 MTPA to 3.99 MTPA.
To cater to the power requirements for the various technological packages, the power network is being augmented. Sterling and Wilson was part of the construction of HT/LT Substations for Lime Plant, CED, Propane Plant with Interplant Cabling and Miscellaneous Electrical Works.
Scope of work
Engineering, procurement, supply, civil construction of 3 nos. of 6.6/0.433 kV Indoor Substations, retrofitting of 38 nos. of 11 kV SF6 breakers with VCB and associated equipment, interplant cabling of 6.6 kV and 33 kV cables, other auxiliary equipment with installation, testing and commissioning of all other Electrical equipment, Plumbing and Fire Hydrant System, Fire Detection and Alarm System, Passive Fire Protection System and AC and Ventilation System on turnkey basis.
