220/33kV Main substation for Ford’s new vehicle plant at Sanand, Gujarat

US auto giant Ford is investing USD 1 Billion to build a vehicle assembly and engine plant at Sanand, Gujarat which is their second in India. Sterling and Wilson has bagged the Main Power supply 220kV substation order which is slated to meet the entire power supply requirement of the plant. The Greenfield substation along with supply of 2 nos. 50MVA transformers along with Civil work has been successfully completed by Sterling and Wilson. The substation has been energized recently in August’13.

Scope of work

Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of 220/33kV, 2×50 MVA Main Substation (Green field) including supply of Transformers & Civil work.
