Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has an installed capacity of 1.9 MT of hot metal. Presently this is being expanded to have 4.5 MT hot metal. This requires a power capacity of 430 MW to supply power to different technological plants like blast furnace, sinter plant, coke oven, caster, OBBP, CHP etc. Medium Voltage Distribution network with interplant cabling system has been envisaged under this package.
Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 2 numbers of HT and 1 number of LT substations including civil construction of 3 numbers substations together with supply of all substation equipment including HT panels, LT panels, transformer and capacitor banks, termination of 33 KV GIS feeders, retrofitting of 38 numbers of HT feeders, supply and laying including underground laying of 5 Kms of 33 KV cables and 30 Kms of 6.6 KV cables.
This project has been successfully completed and all facilities commissioned as per contract and the custody of the equipment, cables etc. has been taken over by RSP. The final contractual closing is in progress.
