Sterling and Wilson began in 1927, during a time when local contractors were few and the only standards to match were those set by electrical contractors from the west. Inspired by the vision of our founder, Meherwanji Daruvala, we set ourselves to match and even surpass these standards.

Over the next few decades we established ourselves as a premier electrical contracting firm and helped shape the growth of Indian Industry and infrastructure. With a view to play a lead role in the emergence of a self-reliant India , we tied up with the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, a respected name in the construction industry.

Thereafter, we took our expertise to the Middle East where we offered management expertise and technical know-how to several foreign companies.Voltamp Electricals Ltd in Oman, Voltage Engineering Ltd in Qatar and Power Engineering in UAE. Under our management they grew to be the leaders in their countries and volt amp electrical won the coveted Asia Award as recognition of outstanding performance and noteworthy trade promotion amongst Asian companies.

Later, we were invited to handle the prestigious state building within the Muscat Palace Complex and the Nizwa Stadium in Oman . Seeing our capabilities in infrastructure and nation-building, we were called upon to handle electrical projects for Petroleum Development, the Muscat Securities Market and the Ministry of Electricity and Water. This experience proved invaluable in giving us a competitive edge in the domestic market, where our expertise was sought to handle projects that were particularly demanding.

In a history that spans over 79 years, we have associated with almost every large business group in the country and handled projects in every sector: from airports and banks, to corporate offices and factories, to hotels and hospitals, and information technology and relating. In the last 3 years alone, we have completed over 200 projects and won repeat business and maintenance contracts from business groups like HLL, Reliance and the Tatas.
